Boy told teacher he wanted to blow up a mosque

The science teacher of a 16-year-old neo-Nazi accused of plotting a school massacre told the Old Bailey how the teenager asked for help making explosives to blow up a mosque.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The 16-year-old, from Loughborough, who cannot be named for legal reasons, quizzed his teacher during weekly science lessons while revealing a hatred of Muslims, the court heard.

His teacher told the court he said he hated Muslims and expressed a desire to blow up a mosque.

"He is aware I am a science teacher and he was also keen to ask questions about explosives and chemicals.

"I did not get involved with it because I didn't want to be the one to tell anybody how to commit an atrocity."

He said the boy appeared to have a fascination with firearms and mass murders and would openly discuss this in class.

The teenager, now 17, is standing trial accused of plotting a terrorist attack on his former school and the college where he was studying for his A-levels, as well as targets including Loughborough University, council offices and even a local cinema.

He is also accused of having a terrorist manual and possessing parts for an improvised explosive.

He denies the charges.

He and two other 17-year-old boys have already admitted possessing petrol bombs and pipe bombs.

He has also pleaded guilty to possessing an offensive weapon.

Earlier yesterday, the court heard how he hoarded newspaper articles about mass murderers including Norwegian killer Anders Breivik.

The English Defence League supporter had reams of clippings about atrocities across the world.
